On April 24th the Olympus Tours Foundation in collaboration with “La Escuelita de Sonia”, “Huellas de Pan AC” and “Manos de Apoyo y Vida” invited children living in disadvantage conditions in Cancun to a didactic opera “The Magic Flute” as a present for Children’s Day.
This adaptation is an act of the famous opera by German composer W. A. Mozart, it was represented by students of Vivaldi music school accompanied by professional singers and musicians, who with their talent graced the function.
The story of the “Magic Flute” revolves around Prince Tamino, that while being chased by a snake he enters into the Queen of the Night’s territory, who offers her daughter’s hand if he saves her from being kidnapped by Sastro. Thus, along with Papageno, the bird catcher, Tamino embarks on the adventure.
During the show that lasted a little over an hour, the children enjoyed the songs, the music and the whole performance; so they showed their faces of joy, excitement and surprise.
Without a doubt this was an unforgettable experience for these children since, for many of them, or all, this was the first time attending a show of this nature.
