As part of the celebration of International Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Developmentand in response to UNESCO’s call to make a gesture (“Do one thing”), the Olympus Tours Foundation held the inauguration of the exhibition VERTEX, by Mexican plastic artists residing in Quintana Roo.
Through this artistic demonstration, it reflects the diversity of creative origins and points of view that converge in the entity, forming part of the cultural richness of the state.
The event took place this past June 2 in the Foundation’s facilities, where it was fortunate to have great attendance. At 7:30 pm, the program began with the presentation of the Club de Danzas Sencillas, who performed a dance by Lucia Guadalupe Victoria Tejero and her partner Juan Gilberto Poot Moo, they are national champions in the specialty of wheelchair dancing, later David Concepcion Yervez, showed his skill and enthusiasm to the beat of chacha. The event’s inauguration was held by Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in Mexico Mr. Evagoras Vrionidis and the eighth governor of the municipality of Benito Juárez, commissioner of Tourism and Ecology, Mrs. Berenice Polanco and the President of the Foundation, Mr. Lakis Charalambous.
The participating artists: Pablo García Robles, Odilvina Moreno Torres, Militza Figueroa y Bolio, Jaime Villegas Saldaña, Hugo Guerrero Fuentes, Xochitl Peralta Serrano, Viridiana Sierra Herrera, Érika López Ramírez, Gabriela Tosello, Martha Mayo, Manuel del Rivero, Luis Landa Ladrón de Guevara, Gabriela Valdez Lizama y Cecilia Alonso.
We also had the presentation of musician Basilio Mavridis of Mexican-Cypriot origin and music student Yessenia Rivas that enlivened the evening with their musical interpretations.
